Parents are a child’s first teacher, and our most valuable allies.

Every year, ADEK recognizes our efforts to be one of the best private schools in Abu Dhabi. But we couldn’t have achieved this without our treasured Parent Committee.

We believe in working closely with the parents and families of our students so that learning continues, whether at home or in school.

From the very first classroom session in 1982, AIS has encouraged parents to be engaged and active members of the school community. This initiative was soon converted into an official Parent Committee to enable an independent body of parents to guide and support the school’s decisions.

AIS and Parents

The Committee offers their unique perspective as parents of students or alumni, creates links between the school and the wider community, and promote a collaborative relationship between the school and parents.

The Committee also represents all parents at official school events, external evaluation visits, and other official meetings or activities as required by the school administration.

The Parent Committee comprises of a core body of permanent members, as well as a roster of parents who choose to volunteer their free time when possible.

Parent Committee Roles

Parents can choose to be involved at three levels, depending on how much time they would like to dedicate.

Volunteers

We encourage parents to participate as much as they can in outings, events, and special activities with children. Volunteers may be asked to participate in Career Days or to serve as chaperones for school outings.

Members

The Parent Committee is an important part of the AIS family, and plays a key role in the school’s decision-making process. We ask that you consider your available time before applying to become a member. You may be requested to attend meetings, engage in initiatives, or supervise events as a chaperone. We welcome your participation and look forward to seeing you on campus.
